The Universidad Nacional de Colombia (UNAL) is a public institution founded in 1867 and linked to the academic history and production of Latin America. Its flagship campus, the University City of Bogotá, is the largest in the country. UNAL is recognized for its excellence in training, research, and social and technological innovation processes.

The project is carried out by the Institute of Clinical Research and the Center for Research and Innovation in Health UN (CIISUN) within the Faculty of Medicine, an interdisciplinary space dedicated to promoting innovation and research in health to develop innovative solutions that positively impact the health and well-being of society.
